Figured I should leave an update thing since some of the dust over dA's recent changes have settled a bit. Needless to say I'm not really happy about them like most folks, but I'm also not going to out n out delete this account. Apart from watermarking and heavily resizing/reducing the quality of the images that I post versus what I keep private, there's always been a risk with my posted art of it being scraped if not by AI then for art thieves and merch, so that feeling's not changed too too much. I also use my account as just a secondary backup to some of my oldest sketches I've lost on my own computer time to time haha. I'm glad that there's even an attempt to implement protections, but it was done in a stupidly muddled way, and this artist's thoughts sum up my own vibe pretty well about the situation: https://www.deviantart.com/chrissabug/status-update/I-wanted-to-gather-my-937031201
Basically AI art as a concept I don't inherently take issue with, even at a base level as an accessibility thing for folks that don't have a disposable income for commissions, or physical issues in the way of working with standard tools, but like most other folks I draw the line at unconsentual use of stolen works in order to train the algorithms and whatnot for it, as well as anyone trying to claim credit for creating a piece they simply generated, and not being up front about it.
This past year I've become less active on art socials across the board, starting with twitter, and then all my other platforms. Been a lot healthier in my brainspace overall not feeling as obligated to post things every single moment, but the dread I felt with the initial misunderstandings people had with the recent AI tool & opt out features being implemented at the same time, was pretty strong to say the least phFPT
I'll probably be posting pretty sparsely in the weeks/months ahead as I re-find my own pace with art again (been a lot of personal life things that knocked a lot of wind out of me for a while too- an this all just compounded on top .;D), but for other platforms besides here to find me, I do still have instagram for finished works: https://www.instagram.com/piranhartist/
As well as artfol I've been wanting to dabble a little more in now that they have a desktop version of their site in beta~ https://www.artfol.me/piranhartist Partially even debating slithering back onto tumblr, since I heard reblogs could be disabled while still keeping a blog public which was one of the biggest features in the past that made me uncomfortable, but since it's one of the first socials I also stepped away from that might be more of a "maybe" Anyone who reads this, take it easy where you can. As much as you draw to share things with others, draw for your own self too. Make things that make you happy <3

I think the last time I hecking posted one of these was almost two years ago now good gra v y
so how bout eclipse huh flJKSHDGJKh
It's only about a few weeks ago I forced m'self to finally get used to the switch before they made things permanent, since I've casually lingered around on this site for too long to ever use something different for archiving m' work~ Other than some of my profile decor and a convenient twitter mini-feed I could have here on my profile, I've really not minded it too much? The biggest gripe that I personally had I just realized today had gotten fixed to simply drag & drop pieces in my gallery to re-arrange them in edit mode which was a relief to see, as well as fixing the resolutions when zooming full view into a piece of artwork.
Hopefully someday they bring pagination back for the sake of reaching older art pieces more easily, and bring back in more quality of life features that the old site had, but I have a hunch the redesign was finally pushed out now than given even more time in the oven due to obligations with the contract under Wix than just arbitrarily putting it out for no rhyme or reason.
It also wasn't a feature of eclipse persey, but I'm really hecking happy I can finally upload videos here to archive right beside all my other work. I still have a few pieces I need to get on here properly but that was a really cool thing when I'd first seen it.
Hope that any you folks reading this are doing well & in good health. I'd mentioned on my most recent upload but I've been taking a raincheck from twitter that'll probably keep going for a little bit. Not leaving there same as I've never left here, just need to step back from checking on my feed so much- which here in contrast is honestly a nice reprieve to still see what folks that still chill on this site like I do are up to.~
Take things easy my dudes. Also share me what some of your fave games you've been playing are recently; or by contrast if its jus been animal crossing, what'd you name your town/what's one of your favorite things about it that you maybe designed or decorated. I've only j ust burnt out on playing it for now until the next update comes whenever it does, so lately I've been playing Terraria again with its most recent update (tho had to take a break cause I completely forking threw my wrist out trying to use keyboard/mouse; gotta teach myself to play it with controller since I legit can't handle it otherwise hflkJSDGH), and also got Bug Fables on the switch to try out super soon, since I've heard some really awesome things about it.
Go drinky some water & sendin chill vibes all y'alls way <3
